CINEMAROSA, the monthly Queer film screening series is pleased to present acclaimed feature film “Gun Hill Road” directed by local filmmaker Rashaad Ernesto Green. Continuing with its Spring 2013 Season Series, and reaching its ninth year of monthly Queer film screenings, CINEMAROSA has the privilege to bring this award winning film to diverse LGBT audiences of Queens and New York City at large. “Gun Hill Road” tells the story of a family in transition, portrays the life of a young man exploring his sexuality in an intolerant and judgmental world, and treats the impact of the protagonist’s exploration's on his relationship with his parents and himself. After the screening, join us for a Q&A session with attending audience, local LGBT groups, and Hector Canonge, director of CINEMAROSA. Light refreshments will be served. |

| CINEMAROSA is a monthly, independent, film program created in 2004 by artist, Hector Canonge. CINEMAROSA’s mission is to promote, and present Queer independent films and videos by local, national, and international filmmakers. The monthly program encourages discussion forums among guests and participant filmmakers in order to create a cultural cinematic hub around LGBT issues and concerns. CINEMAROSA has been recognized as the leading independent LGBT film program in NYC featuring works that best reflect the diverse experiences and lives of LGBT peoples around the world. CINEMAROSA has co-produced events such as Queerin’ Queens, Rosalicious, Gayleria, E V A (School for Alternative Filmmaking) in Corona, Queens, and the monthly literary reading inQbator at Word Up: Community Bookstore in Washington Heights, Manhattan. In 2010, CINEMAROSA received a Proclamation by the City of New York, through the office of Jackson Heights Councilman Daniel Dromm. CINEMAROSA will celebrate its 9th ANNIVERSARY in 2013.
